Fog
swirls over the moat—the dense air hanging breathlessly in
the early morning hours. The drawbridge lowers...bidding entry to
the horsemen who ride silently in. Inside, the queen readies her
court, donning her crown and holding her scepter proudly aloft as
she waits to greet her unexpected visitors. The Scepter bed practically
inspires you to dream of knights and adventures. It is a stately
bed, imbued with a romance. Four posts stand like soldiers at the
corners. Intricate dark gold scalloped feet are balanced by gold
Faberge-egg shaped finials. The 53” camelback headboard and
33 ¼” footboard are secured to the posts by cast bands
that are highlighted by the same aged gold—giving the bed
a regal touch. Wide sweeping curves curl like a royal signature,
ending in plumes. But the most striking aspect of the entire bed
lies with the cast roping that drapes from the top of the camelback
curves to the lowest part. Cascading from miniature shields, the
twisted metal gracefully ends at triple bands. This gives the Scepter
that crowning touch of elegance. The Scepter is finished in Aged
Bronze. Basically, the entire bed is sheathed in this matte metallic
covering. The cool finish actually gives the illusion of a knight’s
armor. Touches of dark gold pinpoint key areas of the bed that are
exceptional—the feet, finials, cast bands, roping, miniature
shields and plumes. This is a bed that definitely gives a commanding
presence to a bedroom. The Scepter is available as a panel only
with all the tools required to attach it to your existing standard
sized metal bed frame. The Panel is the piece that is used interchangeably
as the head board panel and footboard panel. The difference is that
you put leg extenders into the headboard panel. The king size headboard
can be used with an adaptable cal-king metal bed frame to work with
any standard cal-king sized mattresses.
